Group programme
A small group creates motivation and teaches you to listen to other players. You see common challenges from several angles and become more comfortable playing in front of people. Mike's Drum groups are limited to four students so everyone still receives personal guidance. The ten-session programme costs €350, or €35 per session.
Private programme
Private lessons allow the material, speed and feedback to respond entirely to you. This works well if your schedule changes, you have a specific learning need or you want the fastest possible feedback loop. The ten-session private programme costs €600, or €60 per session.
How much should beginners practise?
Consistency matters more than marathon sessions. Fifteen to twenty focused minutes on most days is more useful than one unfocused two-hour session at the weekend. A good practice plan usually contains one timing goal, one coordination goal and one musical application such as a groove or song section.
Record short clips occasionally. Listening back reveals timing and sound more objectively than playing alone, and it makes progress visible over several weeks.
How quickly can you learn?
Progress varies with practice, lesson frequency and previous musical experience. A structured ten-lesson beginner programme can give you working foundations: basic grooves, essential fills, stronger timing, the coordination to follow song sections and enough confidence to play with backing tracks. “Intermediate” is not a finish line, but it is a useful description of becoming less dependent on step-by-step instructions.
